Urgent Need : Refugees in Turkey

Received from our Christian leader friend from Istanbul two days ago :
Brother Ota, my plan is now to to help Yezidies people in other refugee camps in eastern Turkey.  We are praying for the following items for 100 people :
  • 100 Winter Blankets
  • 100 Winter Coats and 100 Pairs of Shoes
  • 100 Warm Sweaters
  • 100 Sets of Warm Underware
All the items will be purchased in Istanbul, where the prices are much lower. With the added cost of the cargo and travel – together with other believers from Istanbul - to oversee the distribution, the total comes to $8,500. That’s only $85 per person. The winter is almost upon us. This is extremely urgent. Can iConnect International help ?"

Donations : To help iConnect International meet this urgent need, please send a check to iConnect International, PO Box 33665, Ft.Worth, TX 76162. Designate your contribution to “Turkey Refugees Ministry”.

Bible School Students from Nepal

We are happy to report that a single donor has stepped up to sponsor two Bible school students from Nepal for the whole school year 2014-15.  Sandeep and Rani have started their studies in Dehradun, India, to return to Nepal to serve in a local church upon their graduation in 2017, Lord willing. It only costs $425 per year to provide quality biblical education to those who have been called by God to serve in the country of Nepal, where the Church is being built up at an amazing pace these days. If you want to be part of this exciting opportunity to educate the future Church leadership in Nepal , iConnect International will facilitate your involvement. You will be able to have a direct access to the students you will sponsor.

Featured Project : Renovation of a Christian Conference and Retreat Center (CCRC) in the High Tatra mountains

The Center was built by Christians right after World War II and confiscated by the communist government in 1948. It fell into disrepair, as it was not properly maintained while being used for the communist youth retreats. As part of the post-communist restitution program in 1994, the building was returned to the Slovak Christians. Slow process of expensive reconstruction was started soon after. Christian activities have been reinstated and keep growing every year. The reconstruction needs to be completed soon, in order for the Center to become self-sustainable through increased capacity and quality service.

The current activities and services of the Center are available to the public. The Center is aspiring to reach into local communities and community groups, including schools and English learning youth. The Center has already served as a place for marriage counseling and restoration seminars and conferences.

Other services being offered are : Seminars for missionaries, School of Counseling for lay ministers, Summer English camps for youth, Roma (Gypsy) family camp, Slovak Youth camp. There have been retreats for two public schools and two Christian schools, Seniors’ retreats, Women’s retreats and other family and church events.

Renovation of the conference and meeting room and a proper thermal insulation of the building are clear and urgent priorities.

We’re thankful for the opportunity to continue being involved in the ministry of the Christian Retreat and Conference Center in Rackova Dolina, Slovakia. Our joint vision is to expand the outreach of the Gospel to all visitors by providing quality lodging, food, conference space, and leisure activities to families, individuals, churches and other groups and to cooperate with other ministries and churches to develop and deliver Christian program activities at the Center.
